Here is one more vacation picture I forgot to post.  I didn't bring any books with me and Dawson LOVES books.  So, when I was in the shower, she got in the nightstand drawer and found herself a book!  "The Book of Mormons!"  What an interesting read that must have been!

We are home and Dawson has been sleeping ever since.  She slept 14 hours last night!  We had an amazing amount of fun and she wouldn't miss a minute of anything.  She was even on the dance floor dancing the night away on our last night!  Here is a quick video of her just hanging out on the beach.  That's really just what we did on our vacation.  Can't wait to check out Aunt Kathy and Uncle Ric's beach!

This is it...our last day at the beach!  We are sad to leave but excited to go home and relax a few more days of our Springbreak.  We miss everyone!  Enjoy our last beach pictures!

Where are we now?  Weather in Ft. Lauderdale was rainy and windy so we decided we just couldn't sit in our rooms for the next 4 days.  So....we packed up and drove across the state to Naples where it is warm and sunny.  I couldn't believe the difference in the weather or the water temperature.  MUCH BETTER.  By the pictures, it looks like no one is here but, it is actually quite busy!  More sun and sand to come today!  We love this weather!

We arrived late last night here in Fort Lauderdale, all six of us.  Around 11:30 last night, Dawson was jumping on the bed in our hotel saying "morning."  How funny is that!   When we woke up this morning, we had breakfast and headed to the beach with our bucket and sand toys.  The weather is 75ish and a little windy.  I call it perfect!  I had no idea what she would think of the sand and water but, it turns out she just loves it!  I can't keep her away from the beach!

We took advantage of a warmer day today.  It reached about 57 degrees later this afternoon.  We rode our bike, pushed our toys and worked on a few soccer skills.  I can't wait for the warm days of summer to arrive!  Dawson really loves playing outside!

What is today?  Today is the day Dawson has officially been with me one day more than she was with her foster family! It's been 10 1/2 months already!   I am so lucky she has been wonderful since the day she came home!  

On another note, today we went to the Kent  library with our friends Lynn and Grace to see "The Bubble Lady."  Lynn picked up the tickets for us and I was lucky to get to go and take Dawson and my niece Breea.  "The Bubble Lady" talked about how much she loved bubbles and how she can make them out of ordinary stuff such as Crocs, a Pringles can, rope, a strawberry basket and many more ideas.  I found it very interesting that she only uses dish soap and water to create her bubbles.

March 8th, 2009

Last night we had a soccer game and then headed over to a local Mexican restaurant.  Dawson and Tommy ordered the usual, Fajitas.  It's so funny to watch them because she likes to make her own.  Dawson lays out the tortilla, puts rice in it and then folds it up.  Next, she picks it up and all the rice falls out the bottom.  Then, she gets mad because all the rice is on the table.  It happens EVERY TIME!.

Look at my new piano!  I stopped by Thinker Toys in Montrose and Dawson was drawn to this piano.  She sat down and played and played and played.  Sooooo, we came home with a new piano. Imagine that!  Here are a few pictures of my musician in action.  Notice the attire...a fancy Dora nightgown!

Thought I would keep everyone posted about our return home.  Sunday and Monday were not great.  She refused to eat or drink.  We went back to the Dr. Monday afternoon and he said it just takes time.  Basically, he explained that she is only 20 lbs and has lost all her fluids and nutrients.  He said the recovery for her to be herself would be another week or two.  Well, I think it took a day!  She was back to herself today....trying on her new raincoat, dumping baskets of toys and moving the chair throughout the kitchen to see what high cupboard she could get into!  Still not eating and just drinking a little but, back to the Dawson that gets into everything!
