A Touch of Summer Sun

I'm so excited...we got a glimpse of some warm weather and some fun summer activities. We spent a day at the lake taking a boat ride, throwing rocks in the water, filling our new pool, swimming and making s'mores. Just a few of our favorite summer activities. It could not have been a better day on Sunday! As for Monday, we just got ready for what's to come this week! The weather wasn't as nice but, we could really use the rain! This is my last week of work for the summer so we are really planning on having some fun soon!

Happy Birthday GRACE!

We headed out to the Little Gym to celebrate Grace's 3rd birthday today! We had tons and tons of fun! We climbed, danced, ran, jumped and played some games. After, everyone gobbled down the pizza and cupcakes! DELICIOUS! Lynn did an amazing job organizing this party! She didn't miss a detail!

GRACE blowing out her birthday candle! She was good!

Running around with the ball....

Hanging like a monkey...nothing new for us!

Eating that delicious pizza...

Sitting next to Grace after she opened her presents. She was saying THANK YOU!

Just hanging out....

Macaroni Soup and GOTCHA DAY Celebration

For our second Gotcha Day, we attended a children's music program called "Macaroni Soup" with our friends Lynn and Grace. Carole Peterson is dubbed the "Pied Piper of children's music". She is a nationally renowned music specialist. Her cross-curricular music and guidance techniques instantly invite all audiences from the youngest child to the oldest adult to join in singing, dancing and rhythmic movement.

As usual, Dawson sat on my lap and took everything in. The concert was held in a school gymnasium and it was filled to capacity. Always a little overwhelming for my girl at first. After about 10 minutes, she jumped right in and was clapping her hands over her head! If I didn't know any better I would have thought she was at a rock concert!
Every song Ms. Peterson sang, incorporated movement, repetition or some kind of lesson. These two crows were fighting so she was singing about getting a timeout. She asked the kids if they had ever been bad. Dawson shook her head NO! HMMMMMM...I'm not so sure about her honesty!

Here is Alvin playing the guitar. He played the role of FUNNY GUY! He kind of annoyed me but, the kids thought he was funny!

One of the highlights of the night was a snowball fight. They passed out those sponge things for the shower and had the kids make believe a snowball fight. When the music stopped, the kids had to freeze. Dawson and Grace both had a great time with this activity!

Just taking everything in!

Lynn and I are in trouble...look at our teenagers at the concert!
We had a great GOTCHA DAY at the concert and with our friends Lynn and Grace. Thanks for sharing our special day with us!
