October 24th, 2008

We just got home from Children's Hospital and made it through the tubes in our ears. Dawson had a fun time running around the waiting area and visiting with the dogs. Children's Hospital has trained dogs known as the "Doggy Brigade" that came around with volunteers to visit all the patients. We were visited by about 3 dogs! Dawson is now napping peacefully! Another milestone!

We took advantage of a warm Sunday afternoon to head out to Boo at the Zoo. The kids stop at various stations to collect treats. I originally thought it was going to be too much for her but, as you can see...my LITTLE PUMPKIN can hold her own!

It was such a beautiful day, we decided to get a pumpkin today. The sun was shining yet it was a typical chilly, fall day here in Ohio. After a short wagon ride, we finally picked the perfect pumpkin. We took it home, I cut it open, and Dawson kept peeking inside to see what was in there. In the evening, I decided to cut a face and cook the seeds for my kids at school. I will post the pics of the pumpkin later! I'm really going to miss these beautiful days when winter comes!

October 17th, 2008

I'm getting behind on my posting so I'm posting lots of pictures to catch myself up. Last time I posted I mentioned the antibiotic working, I was wrong! Another ear infection, a visit to the Dr, a visit to the ENT and tubes next Friday. Hopefully, this will put an end to all the antibiotics.

Last Sunday, we went to Fairlawn CC to the Fall Festival with our friends Lynn and Grace. I met Lynn through a mutual friend and she connected us because we both brought our girls home from Guatemala. Grace is just one month older than Dawson. I enjoy seeing the two of them begin to intereact together and grow up together. It's been a lot of fun spending time with the two of them.

Today, I had a day off work so we ran down to a local farm to pick up some vegetables. Here are just a few fun pics of our visit to Szaleys!!! Dawson really liked the Critter Corn!!!

We are feeling 100% better today. Thank goodness our third antibiotic is kicking in! Dawson and I headed to an apple farm today. She walked up and down rows and rows of apple trees. Often times, she would just grab apples off the ground and start eating them. Eventually, she got the idea of doing a little picking instead of eating!

Dawson has been battling a double ear infection and a sore throat these past 18 days. We went into the Dr. yesterday to get our third antibiotic! I sure hope this one works! Despite her not feeling well, I still managed to get a few cute pics with her pumpkin and first Halloween card from Aunt Kathy and Uncle Ric. Thanks for the card! Dawson loves to carry it around under her arm and color all over it! Isn't that what Halloween cards are for????

What a beautiful weekend! We spent some time on the slide on Saturday and headed to a party on Sunday. A group of people formed a Guatemalan play group about 6 years ago. Most of the kids are 4, 5, and 6 years old but, there are a few younger ones. This play group has outings about once a month and today's was at a farm which one of the family's own. We went for a hayride, saw some animals, made trick or treat bags, and played with some balls! Dawson was a little shy at first and then jumped right in! We had a lot of fun with all the Guatemalan kids...they are such amazing children!
