A few days ago, Tommy, Dawson and I went to our
local mexican restaurant. We usually go there at least once a week if not two. Even before Dawson we were always frequent visitors. When we walk in, they immediately steal Dawson away and have some Spanish conversations with her. The owner refers to her as "DORA..with the BIG EYES." She loves all the attention, the music and especially the rice and beans! It must feel a little bit like home to her! As we were waiting for our food, Tommy so graciously was entertaining her by putting napkins on his head. Within a few minutes, she was doing it to herself and cracking up. What a character she is becoming!!!

July 24th, 2008

We've been quite busy the last few days. From swimming with our new friend Grace to visiting my niece and nephews in Columbus, we have been nonstop! Our new friend Grace is a month older than Dawson and so sweet and pleasant. She is also from Guatemala. Her mom and I took both the girls swimming early in the week. Grace loves the water and Dawson is thinking about liking it! I will post pictures of the girls together when I get a few! Dawson and I spent a few days in Columbus visiting and going to the zoo. The pictures are all with Breea because Cameron is old enough to go off on his own....we didn't see him but, for lunch! By the way...Breea broke her ankle last week so we were pulling her in the wagon to avoid all the walking on her crutches!

Yesterday, while I was taking a shower, Dawson discovered some hair rollers. FYI....I do not use these and they must be 15 years old. They were somewhere in the way back of the bathroom closet! So, I decided to show her how they work! I put them in her hair and then she would pull them out and want them back in again! This became a very funny game and a great photo shoot! Enjoy!!!! What happened to that quiet little girl I met in Guatemala City a few months ago???

My cousin let us borrow her little red wagon to see if we liked it. We have had it 3 days and WE LOVE IT!!! Looks like we might have to invest in one of these. Watch the video and let me know what you think!!!

Today we went for a ride on the Towpath Trail. I decided to rent a trailer for my bike to see how she likes it before I make any more investments. As you can see, she was strapped in, holding her bear and ready to go! We went from the Winking Lizard in Peninsula to Szaleys Farm. It was about an hour ride and that was just enough! Papa came along so you know we finished the night with dinner at the Lizard! We had a great ride and can't wait to go again! (sorry for the bad picture...Dawson grabbed the strap out of my hand and it hit the ground...I'm off to get a new one later today)

A Weekend at the Lake
