Speed Racer

After 3 long years, Dawson can finally reach the pedals of her Schwinn bike! Yes, 3 Christmas's ago, her Grandpa Tom bought her this awesome bike. We waited and waited and waited to be able to use it! Now, I can't keep her off of it or up with her. She is a SPEED RACER!

There has been a lot of independence and personality shining through lately. As you can see, she got dressed this morning in her Christmas dress to ride her bike! I said OK because we will never wear that dress again!

And Teddy came along for the ride also!

Indoor Time

We have had a mild winter with warmer temperatures and not a lot of snow. This has made our ice skating outside come to an end already! Luckily, there are a few indoor places not too far away. Yesterday we met Grace to enjoy some indoor skating. Dawson mentioned she liked how warm it was inside and why did we ever skate outside in the cold! Good question!

Party Girl

Just a quick post.... Last weekend, Dawson had a birthday party with a friend from her class. It was a swim / mermaid party. Look at all these adorable girls. I love all the diversity of her class!

New Lens

I know I know...more ice skating photos. We are taking lessons on Saturday morning outside so I thought it would be a perfect time to try out my new lens. It's a huge zoom so I can get her in action from across the rink. The only problem is when she gets too close to me. As you can see from the photos, this weeks lesson was focusing on arms out. This encourages the kids to glide more instead of walk on their skates.

Skating With Clark

We had a very busy OSU weekend. It started with the family skate on Saturday night. All the OSU Hockey team members were out to skate with their families at Progressive Field. It was a kickoff to the big OSU / Michigan game.

Breea, Dawson and I got out there and skated with Clark. I think he had a great time watching us scoot around on a real hockey rink!

Dawson is just started to get the idea of gliding.....she started out kind of walking but now, I can see a glide developing.

In this picture, Clark was trying to chase her and she was getting mad because she couldn't run from him! It was just too slippery for her to go fast!

Sunday night was the big game. As always, the OSU band impressed the crowd of 25,000 by performing the infamous script OHIO on ice. Yes, they are wearing shoes!!!

Dare to Dream

Dare to Dream is the newest Disney on Ice show. When the flyer came in the summer, I knew this would be the show for my girl who loves anything Disney! We were joined by Mayna, Grace and both of their moms! I have to say, this was by far the best ice show I have ever seen! The costumes, props and story lines were amazing! Great job DISNEY...once again!!

There were sightings of all of the princesses throughout the show. Our favorite was Ariel!

It was hard to get any pictures because it was dark and Dawson was right next to me. She was waving to Minnie Mouse.

One of my favorites, Tangled. They did an amazing job swinging from ropes to portray the story. It was very much like Cirque Du Soleil on ice!

And of course the show must end with Cinderella and Prince Charming!

When we got home, we carefully decorated our Princess Crown.

Then giggled and laughed and rolled on the ground! Only my princess would be so silly!

Santa Stopped By Our House MOM!

Slowly walking down the steps, we peeked at our tree and with pure excitement Dawson said, Santa really did stop by our house!

We prepared for his visit by leaving a huge carrot for Rudolph and a few cookies for Santa.

The very first thing Dawson saw was her new dollhouse. She could not believe her eyes! This has become her favorite toy so far.

Next came the unwrapping of the presents.

This was top on her Santa list.......

BABY ALIVE! JUST WHAT I WANTED!! You can feed her and change her diaper! (which we have already done like 10 times in two days.)

Hanging out with all her HUGE cousins! I can't believe how old they are all getting!!

And finally off to Grammy's house. Grammy gave all the big grandkids a gift and then a maze they had to do to get their Xmas money. It was cute watching all of them try to work hard to get the money out! Focusing....
