Grammy, Dawson and I spent yesterday afternoon preparing for Easter. We dyed eggs, made cookies, baked a cake and now we are ready!

Cayman Turtle Farm
This year, on a windy day, we headed out to visit the Cayman Turtle Farm. It was a very cool place to visit with lots and lots of turtles. In fact....that's all they had!
These were the large sea turtles....they liked to climb and swim all over each other. These are the turtles you often see while scuba diving in Cayman. They are super friendly creatures and amazing to swim with! We had the chance to feed them so they were all crowding around!
The Turtle Farm had many touching pools. You had to reach in and catch the little turtles which was not easy. These little guys have fins and can swim fast! Who knew turtles could be fast!
We loved catching them and touching them over and over. In fact....this was the highlight of Dawson's trip. If it has to do with an animal....she loves it!
Cayman Beach Bunny
We had a beautiful week in Cayman swimming, relaxing and just soaking in the sun. I could not keep this kid out of the water. From 9 in the morning until I forced her back to the room at 4, we were in the water. All day long we went from the beach to the pool over and over again!
Cayman is known for its clear, calm water. One of the reasons we pick this island is so that I can go diving....I can hit 110 feet under and still be able to look up and see the bottom of the boat! That does not happen any where in the world. The clear water is amazing!
We did have one windy day that did create a few waves. Can you find Dawson?

Lots of sand castle building. Our friend Scott did a great job making some creations. Dawson was his helper every step of the way!

Our hotel hosted many fun family activities during the week. One was a pool movie night. We watched Alvin and the Chipmunks while relaxing in our innertube. They also served bags of popcorn to everyone!
One of Dawson's highlights of the week was making a movie with her friends. Cami brought her mini iPad and was the producer. Every day they created a new scene to their "Mermaid" movie.
Another fun family activity was roasting smore's on the beach. Not only marshmallows but, PEEPS in honor of EASTER! What a great idea! When they were cooked, the sugar melted and hardened.... Delicious!

Father Daughter Dance 2013
Last weekend was Dawson's annual Father Daughter dance. It was a circus theme so there was a lot going on. They had circus games, balloon makers, a photo booth, popcorn, cotton candy, and many more fun activities. Last year she wasn't so sure because she did not know what it was about but this year, she remembered how much fun it was and was very excited. We even had to get her hair braided.
Each grade level puts together a gift basket and the families buy tickets to put in which ones they are interested. They are then raffled off.
Well, Dawson decided to put many of her tickets in the WIN A FISH drawing. Guess what? We have a new pet named "Goldie." I love the giggle...she was just so excited to try and win one!

Accidentally, she had the same dress as her best friend. They were both very happy this happened!
There is a photographer on site so each family can get a family picture. She is always so shy as an event begins and just wouldn't do it so, this is what I got! After awhile, her principal called all the family names that didn't get a picture so she went! Thank you principal! I will post that picture soon!

Leprechaun Trap
Dawson's first school project was to create a leprechaun trap. Thank goodness she has a lot of artistic ability! After gathering a few craft supplies, she went to work! I have to admit she did the project 99% on her own. The only part I did was put the glue down for the glitter path. The rest is all the creativeness of a 5 year old!
She created and cut out a leprechaun friend to try and lure another leprechaun into the trap.
A house to make the leprechaun feel more welcome. Complete with some St. Patrick's day lights, a bed, a treasure chest filled with gold, a ladder and another leprechaun friend!

Sunday at the Zoo
We had unseasonably warm day on Sunday so we ventured to the zoo. It felt good to get out of the house and walk around for the whole afternoon. It was also nice to soak up some warm sun rays for a change. All of the animals were out but, many food stands and kid stations were closed. We made the best of a beautiful day! It sure felt like a bit of summer!
This was a picture of the elephant crossing. Today, the elephant was crossing over from one side of the field to the other. The reason they do this is to separate the boy elephant from the girls. This zoo has 5 girls and 1 boy. The trainer told us it was the first day the elephants have been outside it quite awhile.
Next came a little climbing. This structure was made of metal ropes that bounced around as all the kids tried to climb to the top!
I liked this picture because she was sticking out her tongue trying to remain balanced. It was a constant wiggle on this structure!
