SNOW DAY for BOTH of US!

More snow left us both home for the day and more time to be outside. Guess what? I did it!!! I finally got the picture I wanted for my Christmas card. Thank goodness because it was driving me crazy just trying to get the perfect picture. Check that off my list!!! (None of these will be on our card. I want to surprise everyone.)

Digging and digging. Dawson said she was looking for the grass.

Look how deep the snow is here?

And finally, Dawson put the finishing touches on her Christmas tree that is in her room. Can you tell she did it all by herself? It's killing me not to fix it but, I'm going to stay strong!!

From green grass to SNOW......

Lots of snow came down last night and covered the green grass that we just saw a few days ago. When I say a lot, I mean a lot....about 12 inches and more is on the way! We dressed up warm and headed outside for a snowball fight. It was dark and snowy at 6:00 so my pictures are not the greatest and they have snow spots but, you can get the idea of all the fun we had!

Throwing snowballs!

A snow angel.

She just couldn't stop smiling.

Making a snowball and throwing it at mommy! This was lots of fun!!!

We love playing in the snow!

Trying to get a picture!!

Wish me luck on getting a good Christmas card picture this year. We have been dressed up TWICE and ready to get a picture but, Miss Dawson will not cooperate! She wants to run, jump, skip and just smell the pine trees! Every time we do this, we do have a good time but, no good pictures! Look at how happy she is in these pictures!

Smelling the pine tree!
Skipping down the sidewalk. I think most of my pictures this day were of the back of her. Since she has learned to skip, that's all she does when we go for a walk!

And another picture in movement! Never fear, I am not giving up yet! I will keep snapping away until I'm happy with my picture! (I do have a great backup from Fall just in case I can't get what I want!)

Hide and Seek

The holiday season is now in full force and I have been busy being a part of it. I have done everything from getting ready for Thanksgiving to getting out and putting up the Christmas tree this weekend. Sorry about no posts, just been a little crazy. Yesterday, we played and played and played our favorite game...hide and seek! In her playroom (otherwise known as a dining room), she constantly hid in a toy basket. Lots of fun! She always laughs the best laugh when I find her!

All Fired Up!

Music, creativity, imagination are three characteristics of a right brained child. All of these and many more explain the dynamics of Dawson. Over the weekend I decided to tap into her art side and paint a little pottery. We met our friends Grace and Lynn and the creativity began. I did not help her at all (that was a hard thing not to do) and she really did a great job.

Both girls loved picking out their paint colors and bringing them to the table. At one point, we had a few too many! I thought we might get in trouble...heeeheee. I'm not sure the shop was used to such fun girls as ours!

We picked out two things to paint. Lynn and I looked for things that had big open spaces. One was a mitten ornament and the other was an ornament plate.

The girls picked their colors and got to work.

Dawson amazed me as she used a color, rinsed and then dried her brush before using another color. She likes things done the right way (her way) and she likes them done well. I think I have a perfectionist on my hands! Look at the intensity in the picture above. Yikes!

Check out her work in progress. I can't wait until next week when we pick up the finished product.

Cheerleading

Our friend Gretchen gave Dawson some pompoms. She picked them up and began a short and sweet little cheer! I have no idea where she learned this but it sure was funny! Watch carefully because it's really short. I caught this video on my Iphone.

Happy Halloween 2010

Last night we had some of our good friends over for dinner and trick or treating. It makes such a difference to have friends going with us this time. A few nights ago, we went to my brothers house and Dawson would walk up to the door, say trick or treat and when they handed her candy she would say no thank you. I did this for about 3 houses and then decided to take her home! This time, all the girls were running and having so much fun just being together!

Two beautiful princesses on a mission!

Sleeping Beauty (also known as Princess Aurora)

Checking out the goods!

Here they go...I love this picture. They are both so excited!

After about 15 houses, they were done. They suckered Kyle to pull them home in the wagon. Look at who's checking out the goods again! The funny thing is, she didn't even eat her candy. She got out her scissors, cut them all open and then left them on the table. Dawson LOVES her scissors....more than anything...including candy!

And here we are back at our front door with our friend Cami! HOME SWEET HOME!
