Birthday Bash

Happy Birthday Sweet Mayna! On Saturday we spent a few hours celebrating Mayna's third birthday. We had so much fun icing cupcakes, eating pizza, opening presents and just playing with someone else's toys! These are some of my very good friends that I have so much in common with. When we get together, we have so much to talk about! It's always a great time!
Sweet Mayna tasting her cupcake creation!

Everyone waiting so patiently to put the paper candle on the cake. (Like pin the tail on the donkey). They were supposed to close their eyes but, no one did. Dawson didn't even put her candle on the cake! Imagine that...my shy girl!

Look at all these gorgeous kids. Poor Douglas has to put up with all these girls. Some day I think he might like it!
Look at all the black hair in this picture...it cracks me up!

Future Photographer????

We've had quite the week! About a week ago, Dawson told me Ella put muffins in her ears. I didn't believe that a dog could do that so I decided I better check her ears to be sure Dawson didn't do it! No sign of muffin.... A week later, our sitter noticed her ear smelling bad. I thought for sure there was something in there! I took her to the Dr. and guess what she found...NOTHING! At least we all got a good laugh over this one and I'm sure it won't be the last time I went to the Dr. for nothing!

On another note, Dawson got a digital camera for Christmas and is loving taking pictures. It is a low meg camera but, can be dropped without harm. Amazing for a kids camera! Here is a small portfolio of her work....

A picture of herself taken by herself...we have tons of these....

A close up of Grammy's tree. Not too bad...

A picture of Grace...

A picture of her own shoe and her own shadow. Pretty COOL!

The Very Hungry....

CATERPILLAR......

We headed to the theater to see the Very Hungry Caterpillar this morning. Lynn , Grace, Dawson and I bought a four pack of Children's Theater tickets and this was our second production. It's a great way to expose our girls to the theater at such an early age since, we know Grace's Nana wants us to be prepared for some NY shows! Haha! This production used black light and puppetry to portray Carle’s Very Hungry Caterpillar, Little Cloud and Mixed-Up Chameleon. It was quite a show that made you think wow....how do they do this? Dawson is still talking about it this morning...

Walking into the big theater entrance...
Two friends just hanging out by the doors.

Running and laughing after the show. I think this is what the girls like to do best!

SNOW DAY!!! YAY!

I LOVE SNOW...for awhile I wasn't sure if my girl was going to be anything like me and my love for snow because she never wants to put her snowpants on! So finally, we got the pants on while she was kicking and screaming and tossed her out the front door into the snow (we didn't really toss her but, stuck her out there!) Guess what..as soon as she hit the ground she was having a blast. Maybe because cousin Breea was helping her make snowballs. Look how much fun she is having....
Making her first snowball!

Making another snowball!

Dawson pulling Breea! Notice Breea pushing with her hands to help her along!

Friends

I am so lucky to have met two wonderful friends with two amazing little girls, this past year and a half. When the girls get together, it's nothing but fun for them and for us!

Mayna and Dawson taking a ride. Thanks for pulling me around Mayna.

Just three friends hanging out on the couch...I wonder if they will do this as teenagers?

Happy New Year 2010

Happy New Year's everyone. We had a low key celebration on December 31st, in the morning. The zoo holds a noon ball drop so we headed over to enjoy the festivities. It was very cold outside so we decided to stop by the rainforest part of the zoo, an inside facility and not many were there. It was very nice to be so close to the animals without the crowds. We just hung out and checked out the monkeys, gorillas and turtles. Very cool! I can't say enough good things about 2009 but, am wishing for another great year in 2010! Happy New Year Everyone!!!

Looking at the monkey's but, also checking out her own reflection!

Watching the big gorilla eat some leaves off a trea branch. Notice the unbuttoned shirt...I forgot to snap it before I left the house. Opps!

Just a cheesey smile....

Waiting for Radio Disney to come out and party!

Christmas 2009

Christmas morning I was downstairs ready for the big reaction for Santa coming. I had the video camera ready to go. No reaction but, it was fun! Dawson came down the steps, checked out her cookies and milk and was happy that Santa saved some for her. She immediately ate the leftovers as you can see in the picture below....She didn't even pay attention to the presents!

Next, she looked at the presents with a little coaxing. Her Diego Animal Rescue house was put together on top of her presents and she loved that. In fact, she loved it so much she just played with it and didn't notice anything else again!

With a little more coaxing, we got her in the groove of opening presents....

She loved these Duplo blocks...they made a castle!

She got a book she really likes called "On the Night You Were Born." If you don't have it yet, go buy it. It's very sweet!

And one of her favorite gifts of all, a digital camera. I will save her beautiful pictures and post them another day. It's quite interesting to see the photographic eye of a two year old!

We had a wonderful Christmas and are still enjoying all of the new toys!
Merry Christmas Everyone!!!
